Joslin, Sedberry and Lamkin, L.L.P. has its origins deep in the roots of the Wake County legal community. In the early 1960s, four already established attorneys, Alfred L. Purrington, William Joslin, John K. Culbertson and Charles H. Sedberry formalized their association into a partnership dedicated to the goal of providing the highest quality legal services to its clients. The firm concentrated in Residential and Commercial Real Property Law, Corporate Law, and Estate Planning and Probate Law, and had its offices in downtown Raleigh until moving to its current location on Barrett Drive in 1986.
During the 1980s and ’90s, the firm’s concentration evolved into a solid real estate practice, with a flexibility that reflects the desire to best serve its clients. Some of the firm’s major corporate clients have included Drucker & Falk, LLC, Carolina Builders Corporation (now Stock Building Company), Terminal Communications Corp., Carolina Power & Light Co. (now Progress Energy), and Anderson Homes, Inc. Significant changes included the retirements of John Culbertson in 1989 and William Joslin in 2006. Laura J. Lamkin became a partner in 1999, and Nell Joslin and Nancy Hunter in 2008.
In addition to dedicated professionalism, the firm’s hallmarks have been friendliness, accessibility, and old-fashioned courtesy, which form the bedrock of a vibrant, modern-day real estate practice.
